Dr. Akudo Ekwem

Dr Akudo ekwem is the founder of Radiant Smiles Dental, PA, a start of the art dental office located in Houston Texas. She is compassionate and detail-oriented. Dr ekwem desire to be a dentist started in Nigeria, West Africa where access to a dentists was poor and non -existent. Her family had to travel 30 miles away to see a dentist. She seen her community suffer from periodontal disease without access to good oral care. Dr Ekwem wanted to close the gap in oral care in her community. One of the first steps towards achieving this goal was to Migrate to the U.S to attend University of St Thomas, Houston, Tx. After graduating from St Thomas, Houston with a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Dr. Ekwem continued her education at Howard university in Washington D.C, receiving her doctor of dental surgery DDS. Dr Ekwem received special training in implants and orthodontics. She is a member of ADA, TDA and GHDS. She keeps her practice up to date through continuing education. When not treating patients, Dr Ekwem is travelling , running or spending time with family.

Her colleagues describe her as a perfectionist with an unparalleled eye for detail. Her patients describe her as warm, caring, and attentive. It’s always Dr. Ekwem’s goal is to provide outstanding treatment for her patients as well as to educate them on their own dental health while exploring all treatment options.
